What i did this week in sicence was play a game on the rooftop of New Design call OH DEER! In this game we had our class split up into 2 groups. 1 group played as deers and the other were resourses. How we played was both groups were lined up on oppisite sides of the area we were in. we had to turn out backs to eachother and pick one of the 3 resorses which where food, water, and shelter. to symbolize food we had to place our hands on our bellys, to symbolize water we had to cover our mouths, and to symbolize shelter we had to form a hut shape with out arms. When the teachers said READY, we had to pick a resourse. when they said SET, we turned around to look for someone on the other side that had the matching resouse. When they said GO!! the Students that were deers had to run to the student resorce that matched the resouse they had picked and go back to the deer side. if there was not enough resorces then that student deer dies :(. they end up becoming a resource.
We also played a little card game where we had to find out where each animal relationship on the card lived and what relationship did they had like commensalism, mutualism, parasitism, or predator/ prey.
I learned about these nasty things call bot flies. they are little parasites that are placed under your skin to hatch and grow by mosquito. i learned that animals can use each other to survive. Caterpillars use good ants for protection from the bad ants and the good ants also use the caterpillar for its sweet water bubbles. Cow attract flies and ducks use the cows for the flies they kick up so they could eat them off the cow.
